Laura’s Sacrament of Reconciliation - May 8, 2010 -

Today was Laura’s first time participating in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. She proudly recited her Act of Contrition last night finally getting past the section that had been tripping her up for weeks. It helped her to be less nervous about the whole thing.

May the words she memorized grow deep roots and remind her in times of need that His mercy and love are unfathomable and there is no vice that can not be redeemed through Christ. May she always find comfort in renewing her relationship with God and receive His peace and strength offered through this grace filled sacrament.

Laura, Congratulations!!! It is an awesome gift the Lord gave us through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Allowing us not only to relieve our conscience by confessing our sins aloud, but to experience the joy of knowing and hearing that He has forgiven our sins and that we can make restitution. There is so much peace in actively “doing something” to make amends for our sins. Always remember that the Lord’s wisdom is awesome, His love never ending, and His mercy infinite.

Thank you Jesus for your gift of Confession. Thank you for your priests, whom you speak to us through. Thank you for Laura and her bright shiny soul. May Your grace shine through her to illuminate the darkness and bring Your peace, love and joy to others. Amen.
